Problem number four. Karen cuts one piece out of this grid. Which piece is the one she can cut out? We will need to look at the pieces given in the answers A through E, one by one, to see if those pieces can be found in the grid. Also, since the problem doesn't tell us that she didn't turn the pieces around after cutting them, we will assume that it's okay to do so. Looking at piece A, we have a triangle next to a square. There are two triangles in the grid, but neither one of them has a square to the right of it. So A is not a piece that she can cut out of the grid. In answer B, we again have a triangle but it's pointing down. Since both triangles and the grid are pointing up, we're going to imagine that we're rotating the piece. After rotating, the triangle will be on this side facing up, and the circle would be on the left side. Now there's no place in the grid where there's anything to the left of a triangle, so that piece is not going to work. In C, the triangle is pointing sideways, so again we will rotate it to see what it would look like if the triangle was like the ones in our grid. A triangle points up, it's here, and there's a star above it. But in our grid, there's no place where there's a star above a triangle. That doesn't work. In letter D, there's a star and a kite. The only kite in our grid is in the corner here. There's no star to the left of it. If we flip the piece, we'd expect the star on the right, but there's also no star there. This piece is not going to work. In our last piece, we have a square with a circle next to it. The squares in our grid are here and here. The square in the bottom row does have a circle to the right of it, so that would work. Also, if we rotated the piece, we would have the square on the right and circle on the left, and the piece could be taken from the top here. So E is the piece that could have been cut out from this grid by Karen. The answer is E.
Video Summary
Karen needs to cut a piece from the grid, matching one of the pieces labeled A to E. After examining each option and considering rotation, piece E matches a section of the grid. Option E, comprising a square with a circle next to it, aligns with the grid's arrangement where the bottom row features a square with an adjacent circle. Therefore, the correct piece that Karen can cut out from the grid is option E.
