Problem number 11. Julia has two pots with flowers as shown. She keeps the flowers exactly where they are. She buys more flowers and puts them in the pots. After that, each pot has the same number of each type of flower. What is the smallest number of flowers she needs to buy? 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10. We are going to look at the pots and see what flowers must be added. There are two white flowers here and two white flowers plus two more so we need to add two. For these grey flowers, we have four here and only one here. 4 minus 1 is 3. Then for these black flowers, we have 2 here and 3 here. 3 minus 2 is 1. We add all these together and we have 2 plus 3 plus 1 which gives us 6. Our answer is C, 6.
