Problem number 18. Every time the witch has three apples, she turns them into one banana. Every time she has three bananas, she turns them into one apple. What will she end up with  if she starts with four apples and five bananas? A, one banana. B, one apple. C, an apple and a banana. D, two apples. Or E, two bananas.  It might be a good idea to draw some pictures for this problem.  The witch has four apples and five bananas.  And I'll put a little cheat sheet in the corner. Three apples become a banana and three bananas become an apple.  We will look at the fruit that we have and we will turn it into other fruit until we can't do that anymore.  So we know that if the witch has three apples, she turns them to a banana. So we're gonna take these three apples  and that will become another banana. Now, every three bananas become an apple.  So we'll take these three bananas.  The witch would turn that into an apple.  And she did the same thing with these three bananas.  So now they are just apples. One, two, three of them. And every time the witch has three apples, she turns them into a banana. So these three apples  all are turned into one banana.  The witch can't do anything with one banana, so that's what's left.  One banana is answer A. So that is the answer, A.
