We are going to count them to make sure that each one of them represents one unit of height.  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. So yes, they each represent one unit of height because there are 12 of them going up to 12.  Now we are going to count how tall this smaller mushroom is.  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. So the smaller mushroom is 6. The smaller mushroom is 6 units tall. We are going to find the height of the taller mushroom. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.  A difference is when we subtract.  So 11 minus 6 is 5. So our answer is B, 5.
