Problem number 3. Which of the paths shown in the picture is the longest? A, B, C, D, or E? Notice that each one of these paths is made of little segments of the same length,  having the length of one side of the squares in the grid. To find the longest path, we're just going to count the length of each path in the picture.  So in A, we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. 15 units of length. In B, the length is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. So 13 units of length.  In C, the path is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 units long. The path in D is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 units long.  And in E, the length is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. 11 units. 15 was the biggest number, so the path in A is the longest. The answer is A.
