Problem number 11. The two tokens of the question mark have the same number. The sum of the four tokens shown is 18. What is the value of one of the missing numbers? The tokens shown are the token with a 10, two tokens with question marks, a token with 2, and we are told that the sum is 18. We know that both these question mark tokens have the same value. So first, we're going to find what the two tokens are worth together. So we see that on the one side we have 10 and 2, which is 12, and on the other side we have 18. In order to get from 12 to 18, we need to add 6. 12 plus 6 is 18. So the two tokens together have a value of 6. That means that each one of them is half of 6, or 3. 3 plus 3 is 6. So each one of these has a value of 3, and 10 plus 3 is 13, plus 3 is 16, plus 2 gives us 18. The answer is C.
