Problem number 21. Emma finished third in a solo dance competition. There were three dancers between her and last place. In total, how many dancers took part in the competition?  When we count the dancers, let's be sure to count Emma. We know that she was in third place, so there was the dancer that took first place,  the dancer that took second place, then Emma, and then there were three dancers between her and last place. So here's last place, and there were three dancers here.  So in total, there were 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 dancers. The answer is D.
