Question 14. Billy the beaver is painting the letter K shown in the picture. He has already used one tube of paint. How many more tubes of paint does he need to finish painting the letter K? Let's take a closer look at what Billy is painting. We know that he has used one tube of paint and painted two squares. With that, we can assume that each tube of paint will be two more squares that Billy paints. So, we can draw the next as blue, that is another tube of paint. These in green, that is one next tube of paint. And then these in yellow, that is a third tube of paint. Now you'll notice that we have four triangles. You'll also notice that each of these triangles is half the size of one square. And since we know that one tube of paint colors in two squares, that will be the same amount of paint needed for four of these triangles. So that's another color. Now, we need to simply count how many new colors, or tubes, that Billy has used. We have blue, green, purple, and yellow, or four new tubes of paint, giving us answer C.
