Problem number 10. Sophie wants to pick five different shapes from the containers. She can only pick one shape from each container. Which shape must she pick from container 4?  A. Star B. Circle C. Pentagon D. Triangle or E. Diamond  Sophie is picking one shape from each container and she needs to pick a different shape from each container because there are five containers and five shapes.  To figure this out, we should start with the container that has only one shape because that will limit the choices. In container 3, there's only the circle.  So that's the shape that Sophie will take from that container.  Now let's look at the containers that have two shapes. In container 1, there's a circle and a star. In container 5, there's a pentagon and a star.  Since Sophie already has a circle, that's not what she will take from container 1. She'll take the star. Now she has a star and a circle,  so from container 5, she'll take the pentagon.  Let's look at container 4.  Sophie already has the pentagon, the star, and the circle, so she'll take a diamond.  So that will be our answer, E, diamond.  To finish up the problem, container 2 has all five shapes and the only one Sophie hasn't picked up yet is the triangle, so she'll get the triangle from container 2.  So again, the shape that she will pick from container 4 has to be the diamond.
