Number 3. In a square you can see the digits from 1 to 9. A number is created by starting at the star, following the line, and writing down the digits along the line while passing. For example, the line shown to the right represents the number 42685. Which of the following lines represents the largest number? So what we know is that the largest number will start with the largest digit. So we only need to consider the ones that start with the number 9. And in fact we do have two that start with the number 9. That would be E and B. And that's shown because they both have stars at the number 9. Now we can write out what E and B are individually. So B is 9, 8, 5, 4, 2. E on the other hand is 9, 8, 6, 5, 1. We can look in the hundreds place and we see that E has a 6 and B has a 5. So E is the larger of the two. As a result, E is the correct answer.
