What is the youngest age Ava could be by the end of 2022? So any years earlier than 2022 that at the very least are relevant to this problem are of the form 20 blank blank or 19 blank blank. So if we take a look at those with the form 20 blank blank, the only other possibility starting with 20 is 2000 because the possibility with three twos is 2022. We've already considered that. And the next going to the 1900s, we have 1911 and 1999. 1911 has three ones. 1999 has three nines. 1999, of course, is the more recent. So we can say Ava has lived through 1999, 2000, and then 2022 to get through three years that Ava has lived through a year with three identical digits. The youngest age she could then be is 2022 minus 1999, which is 23 years old. So the answer is D. Note that the writers of this problem have conveniently said that what is the youngest age Ava could be by the end of 2022. So we don't have to worry about any of those birthdays in the middle of the year that haven't been reached yet. So definitely simplify the problem a little bit for us.
