Question 7. There are 2 concentric wheels, each marked with 7 positions. The wheels spin in opposite directions, and each makes a complete turn in 7 minutes. At the end of each minute, each letter lies exactly in front of a number. The picture shows the first 2 positions of the wheels, and we can see that initially, letter A is in front of the number 1, letter B is in front of the number 2, and so on. The wheels turn until letter C is in front of the number 2. Which number is letter F in front of at that point? This means that we can disregard the movement rules, and put the C in front of the 2, and work from there. We can see that F is 3 spaces clockwise from C, so we need to find the number 3 spaces clockwise from 2, which is 5.
Video Summary
Two concentric wheels have 7 positions each, spinning in opposite directions to align letters with numbers. Starting with A in front of 1, the goal is to find which number corresponds with letter F when C is in front of 2. By directly positioning C to 2 and identifying F’s position relative to C, F is found to be 3 spaces clockwise from C. Counting 3 spaces clockwise from 2 gives the number 5. Thus, letter F aligns with number 5.
