This is problem one. Which of the pieces shown would complete the pattern? Feel free to pause if you want to try and solve it. Okay, so the first thing we can notice is these squares that are going through the center here, right? Each of these squares. And we can see that there's two squares on the top and two on the bottom. And they should continue into the white square. And we can fill out those little corners inside of this white square. And then the next thing we can notice is this sort of diamond pattern here. We see we have a diamond here and a diamond here. And we can see that they continue forming these sort of Xs in the middle. And we can see that that should continue, right? This line will continue up through here. This line will continue over here. And also on this side, this line will continue up through here. And this line will continue up through there. And then, of course, we'll have another side of each of these diamonds right here. And another side right here. And so now already if we look at our options, we can see that this doesn't look like C or E. There's no corners there. There's also no corners for D. And this doesn't really at all look like A, right? The only option is B. And we can actually see that this drawing is exactly what B looks like. If you were to take B and put it over there, it would fit in perfectly. So the answer to number one is B.
Video Summary
The video discusses how to solve a pattern completion problem, focusing on identifying key features in a series of geometric shapes. Specifically, it highlights recognizing continuity in squares and diamond patterns across the shapes. The narrator systematically eliminates incorrect options (A, C, D, and E) by analyzing the absence or incorrect placement of these patterns. Finally, option B is identified as the correct piece that completes the pattern, matching the expected patterns in the design. The solution is confirmed by visual alignment, ensuring the piece fits perfectly into the pattern.
