Number 3. Mike has a flyer with numbers and holes in the flaps on both sides as shown in the picture. He folds the right flap along the dotted line and sees the numbers 2, 3, 5, and 6 through the holes. Then he folds the left flap along the other dotted line. What is the sum of the numbers he sees now? Feel free to pause and try and solve it. Okay, so let's try and figure out what Mike is doing. So he starts with the right flap, which is this side, and he folds it over. So notice he's only going to see the numbers where these holes are, right? And you have these holes over here. When this gets flipped over, you can see this hole over here is going to cover the 2. So he'll see the 2. Or rather, it's not going to cover the 2. And then these two holes right here are going to allow him to see the 5 and the 3, right? And then this hole over here is going to let him see the 6, right? So that's the 2, 3, 5, and 6 that we see in the problem, alright? So that makes sense. Now remember, he keeps this flap folded over and now he's also going to fold over this side, right? So which of these numbers that he can see will he still be able to see? Well, he's not going to be able to see the 2 because that's going to be covered by this over here, right? So he's not going to be able to see the 2, right? And then when he folds this over, this one over here is also going to fold over and cover the 6, right? But these two holes over here, we can see when they fold over, they're going to be on the 3 and the 5. So he'll still be able to see the 3 and the 5. And if we add them up, right, 3 plus 5, the sum is 8, which is option E. So the answer to number 3 is E.
