You will win a prize if you spin the wheel and it stops with the triangle above the wheel pointing to the part that is shaded. Which wheel gives you the best chance of winning? Pause if you want to try and solve it. Alright, so for this one we just need to figure out what is the probability of winning for each wheel. So we can see here for option 1 there are eight different regions, right? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. And two of them are shaded. So your chances are going to be 2 in 8, right? Or that's equal, that simplifies to 1 4th. Alright, now for option B we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. And once again two are shaded so that's 2 10ths which is simplifies to 1 5th. Alright, this one we can see there's six total regions and one of them is shaded. So that's going to be 1 6th. And here there's a lot. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. So that's 12 total regions. Two of them are shaded and that simplifies to 1 6th. Let me erase this. 1 6th. And then lastly we have over here 7. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. And one of them is shaded so that's 1 7th. Alright, and so we just need to figure out which one of these is the biggest because we want the best chance of winning. And remember with fractions the smaller, the larger the denominator is, the smaller the fraction is. And the smaller the denominator is, the larger the fraction. So actually the largest fraction here is 1 4th. So that's this one. So the correct answer is option A.
