A standard die has six faces numbered from 1 to 6. The sum of the numbers on opposite faces is always 7. The numbers on three faces that share a common vertex have a sum of 14. What are the numbers on the other three faces? So first we can say that the sum of all the numbers on die must be 1 plus 2 plus 3 all the way up until 6 which is 21. Now we know that the sum of the three other faces must be 21 minus 14 which is 7. Looking at our answer choices we can see that only A sums up to 7.
