With this, we know that 4X is equal to 3Y. If we divide this out, we get X equal to 0.75Y. When we look at the ratio of AB to BC, we have 4X over X plus Y, which can be simplified by putting 0.75Y as X. When we simplify this, we get 3Y divided by 1.75Y. When we multiply this by 4, we can get 12Y divided by 7Y. And we see that the ratio of AB to BC is answer D, 12 over 7.
