Q2. On a test, Jenny scored 85% and Polly scored 90%. However, their results differed by just one point. How many points was the test worth? So we know that the difference between the scores, which is 5%, accounts for just one test point. So let's write that down. We know that 5% of the total score is equal to 1 point. And then here, what we have to find out is what is 100% of the total worth. This is how many points. That's our question. And so to move from 5% to 100%, what we have to do is multiply both sides by 20. And if we do that, on the left-hand side, we have to do that also on the right-hand side. Multiply by 20. And then what we see is that 20 times 5% is equal to 100% on the left-hand side. And on the right-hand side, 20 times 1 point is equal to 20 points. And so the unknown quantity here is exactly 20 points. And that tells us that, in fact, 100% of the total is 20 points, and that's what the test was worth. So the answer here is D, 20.
