Question 2. An equilateral triangle of side 12 has the same perimeter as a square of side x. What is the value of x?  We can draw out our equilateral triangle, and it has a side of 12. This means that the other two sides will also be 12.  To find the perimeter of a triangle like this, we just add 12 plus 12 plus 12, and we get 36.  Next we can draw a square. The square has all equal sides, and since the square has 4 sides, and we know that the perimeter is the same as the triangles,  we take 36, divide it by 4, and this will give us our answer, which will be A, 9.
