Video Summary
The webinar reviewed how to read clocks and solve time-and-calendar problems. Students were reminded to look at the hour hand first: it remains on the current hour until it reaches the next number. Each number on the clock represents five minutes, and the minute hand completes a full circle in 60 minutes. The class also practiced reading a reverse, or anticlockwise, clock.

For calendars, the instructors reviewed the months, the number of days in each month, leap years, and the order of weekdays. Key facts included 52 weeks in a year, 26 in half a year, and an extra day in February every four years. Because weekdays repeat every seven days, adding or subtracting seven days keeps the same weekday—a useful shortcut for calendar problems.

Students practiced questions involving days of the week, dates across months, counting forward by weeks, the number of times a weekday occurs in a month, clock times, and travel schedules. They were encouraged to draw a simple calendar, clock, or timeline when useful, and to check whether their answers make sense.

The instructors also reinforced a four-step problem-solving method: understand the question, make a plan, carry it out, and check the result. Students were encouraged to practice past tests under the competition’s 75-minute time limit, while prioritizing accuracy over rushing.
