Class Info

Mastering Math Kangaroo is recommended for students 14-15-16 years old or in grades: 9 or 10.

This Math Kangaroo Class is distinct from the Competition held in March.

This class is an interactive class in which the Math Kangaroo instructor incorporates engagement triggers to have students participate in an activity.

Class dates: 10 Sundays – Jan.5, Jan.12, Jan.19, Jan.26, Feb.2, Feb.9, Feb.16, Feb.23, Mar.2, Mar.9

Class time: 2:00 p.m. EST ........................ convert into your time zone 

Class study material: teacher provides material for the class. There is no required textbook although for extra practice at home these books are recommended but optional.

Financial Assistance: Families facing financial hardship can apply for support by contacting the MK Office at info@mathkangaroo.org with appropriate documentation (e.g. proof of enrollment in government assistance programs such as SNAP, WIC, TANF, or Medicaid, or a different document to support your request.)

Excelling, Level 9-10, Set B:

Class Information:

  • Students with math competition experience or who are interested in competing at a high level in Math Kangaroo are invited to join the Excelling Course.
  • This course draws on problems from the Level 9-10 competitions, and assumes students have some familiarity with problem solving strategies.
  • This course is intense but fun at the same time.
  • Homework for this course will be problems very similar to those seen in class to reinforce the use of the strategies taught each week.
  • Optional homework each week, starting with lesson 2, will be an entire Math Kangaroo exam to build the students’ persistence and stamina for the actual competition.
  • The course will culminate in a math project that the students present.
  • This class is planned to meet 10 times for 1 hour each.
  • The class size: 12 students
