Navigating Math Kangaroo is recommended for students 8-9 years old or in grades: 3. 

This Math Kangaroo Class is distinct from the Competition held in March.

This class is an interactive class in which the Math Kangaroo instructor incorporates engagement triggers to have students participate in an activity.

Class dates: 10 Sundays – Oct.4, Oct.11, Oct.18, Oct.25, Nov.1, Nov.8, Nov.15, Nov.22, Dec.6, Dec.13  

Class time: 12:45pm EST ........................ convert into your time zone


Class study material:
 teacher provides material for the class. There is no required textbook although for extra practice at home these books are recommended but optional.

Navigating, Level 3 Fall: 

Class Information:

  • Students in Grade 3 or 4 who enjoy challenging mathematical thinking and problem solving, but may have limited contest experience, are invited to join this introductory Navigating course.    
  • In this course, students will develop their mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities through engaging activities and Level 3–4 Math Kangaroo-style problems. Topics include multi-step story problems, the four operations, fractions, geometry, symmetry, spatial reasoning, rotations and perspectives, logical deduction, and time-related challenges.    
  • This course provides a challenging yet supportive environment where students are encouraged to think creatively, explain their reasoning, and persevere through complex problems.    
  • Homework for this course will be problems similar to those seen in class to reinforce the use of the strategies taught each week.    
  • This class will meet 10 times for 1 hour each.    
  • The class size: 12 students.
