Navigating Math Kangaroo is recommended for students 9-10 years old or in grades: 4. 

This Math Kangaroo Class is distinct from the Competition held in March.

This class is an interactive class in which the Math Kangaroo instructor incorporates engagement triggers to have students participate in an activity.

Class dates: 10 Wednesdays – Oct.7, Oct.14, Oct.21, Oct.28, Nov.4, Nov.11, Nov.18, Dec.2, Dec.9, Dec.16  

Class time: 8:15pm EST ........................ convert into your time zone


Class study material:
 teacher provides material for the class. There is no required textbook although for extra practice at home these books are recommended but optional.

Navigating, Level 4 Fall: 

Class Information:

  • Students in Grade 3 or 4 with significant math competition experience,  who are eager to challenge themselves through advanced problem solving and Math Kangaroo preparation, are invited to join this Navigating course.  This course is for students already confident with multi-step word problems.  
  • In this course, students will strengthen their mathematical thinking and competition skills through engaging activities and Level 3–4 Math Kangaroo problems. Students will learn and practice a variety of powerful problem-solving strategies, including finding patterns, drawing diagrams, identifying all possible outcomes, logical reasoning, and working with time, calendars, geometry, and missing-value problems.    
  • This fast-paced and challenging course is designed to help students develop confidence, persistence, and flexibility when solving non-routine mathematical problems.    
  • Homework for this course will consist of problems similar to those discussed in class to reinforce the strategies and techniques taught each week.  
  • This class will meet 10 times for 1 hour each.
  • The class size: 12 students.
