Webinar Presenter:
Dr. Sarah Sagi
Dr. Sarah Sagi Math Kangaroo Faculty and Curriculum Expert with extensive experience in building Math Kangaroo’s online curriculum. Dr. Sagi has taught Math Kangaroo classes and webinars for 3 years and has coached elementary school math clubs to top honors in international math contests. She graduated from Harvey Mudd College and earned a PhD from UC San Diego in Biomedical Sciences. As a mother of four children, she values introducing alternative methods for solving challenging problems to help each student find their preferred tools. Her hobbies include Zumba, crochet, and walking.


Webinar Contributor: Jacob Khohayting
Jacob Khohayting is a sophomore at American Heritage in Florida. He has participated in Math Kangaroo since second grade, and has ranked 3rd and 4th nationally in the past two years. In addition, he competes for his school and state math teams and enjoys helping students through his school’s tutoring program.
 

Webinar Information:
  • Students in grades 5-6 with math competition experience or who are interested in competing at a high level in Math Kangaroo are invited to join the Discovering Course Webinar.
  • This course draws on problems from the Level 5-6 competitions, and assumes students have familiarity with problem solving strategies.
  • This course is intense but fun at the same time.
  • For added challenge, the optional homework (additional fee) for weeks 2-9 will be an entire Math Kangaroo exam to build the students’ persistence and stamina for the actual competition.
  • This webinar is planned to meet 10 times for 1 hour each.    
  • The number of participants is limited to 300 students.
