Exploring Math Kangaroo is recommended for students 6-7-8 years old or in grades: 1 or 2.

We have a limited number of spots available for the class.

Five meetings, two-hour classes, 5 times a week, 10 hours total

Class format (tentative): 40 min interactive lesson - 5 min break - 40 min interactive lesson - 5 min break - 30 min games.

This class is an interactive class in which the Math Kangaroo instructor incorporates engagement triggers to have students participate in an activity.


Class Information:

• Students with limited or no math competition experience are invited to join the Exploring course.
• In this course, students will be introduced to visualization and problem-solving strategies of more advanced Patterns, Draw a Picture or a Diagram, Spatial Thinking, Organized List, Make a Table, Balance and Scales, Logical Reasoning through a mixture of games and plentiful exposure to Level 1-2 Kangaroo problems.
• This set includes more advanced problems than set A, although taking Set A classes is not a prerequisite.
• Homework for this course will be problems very similar to those seen in class to reinforce the use of the strategies taught each week.
• The course will culminate in working through the entire 2012 Level 1-2 contest together as a group.
• This class is planned to meet 5 times for 2 hours each.
• The class size:12 students
