Class Info

Exploring Math Kangaroo is recommended for students 6-7 years old or in grade 1.

This Math Kangaroo Class is distinct from the Competition held in March.

This class is an interactive class in which the Math Kangaroo instructor incorporates engagement triggers to have students participate in an activity.

Class dates: 10 Saturdays – Oct.3, Oct.10, Oct.17, Oct.24, Oct.31, Nov.7, Nov.14, Nov.21, Dec.5, Dec.12

Class time: 2:00pm EST ........................ convert into your time zone

Class study material: teacher provides material for the class. There is no required textbook although for extra practice at home these books are recommended but optional.

Exploring, Level 1 Fall:

Class Information:

Students in grade 1 with limited or no math competition experience are invited to join this Exploring course.
In this course, students will build a strong foundation in essential Grade 1 math concepts through engaging activities and Level 1–2 Math Kangaroo-style problems. Topics include counting and number patterns, place value, addition and subtraction strategies, 2D and 3D geometry, telling time and using calendars, money, basic fractions, measurement, graphs, and developing logical thinking through fun, real-world problem-solving.
Homework for this course will be problems similar to those seen in class to reinforce the use of the strategies taught each week.
This class will meet 10 times for 1 hour each.
The class size: 12 students.
